Each day this month I am going to try and post a spring training report about the most impressive player for the Posse. It was not in my plan to have reports on youngster Andrew McCutchen in back to back days, but he was the best Posse today.
McCutchen got the opportunity to start in left field today in the first spring training game and got the opportunity to bat lead off. In his first at bat he did not disappoint as he nailed a Eric Milton pitch over the wall for his 1st spring training dinger. McCutchen got another opportunity to face Eric Milton in the second inning and he had a solid double. Not bad against a veteran pitcher. McCutchen went 2 for 4 on the day.
McCutchen is a 20 year outfielder who is expected to start the year in AA. He is one of the Posse top prospects and is expected to replace Torii Hunter in centerfield in a couple seasons.
